This post contains spoilers for The Walking Dead Season 7, Episode 14.
On Sunday night’s Walking Dead, Maggie and Daryl finally talked about Glenn. Daryl’s guilt over his friend’s death—which was basically his fault—has hung over him throughout Season 7, ever since he sat in a cell naked, gagging on dog-food sandwiches and sobbing over a photo of his fallen brother in arms. Fans have been waiting for Maggie and Daryl to finally talk about what happened, and when the moment came, it was every bit as emotional as one might expect—and even more heartbreaking given the history these two share, and the specific role Glenn played in getting them both through it. In Sunday’s episode, Maggie and Daryl found themselves hiding from the Saviors in a root cellar. When one of the Saviors came in to take supplies, Daryl was poised to kill—but Maggie stopped him. “He deserved to die,” Daryl said. “Ever since you got here, you haven’t said a word to me,” Maggie replied.
