This New 'Game of Thrones Theory' Hints At Cersei's Murder

Cersei's reign over the 7 Kingdoms may be coming to an abrupt halt. This shocking new theory suggests Cersei may be murdered in season 7 and the perpetrator is not someone we saw coming.

The evidence was always right under our noses. The prophecy stems back to season 5 when Maggy the Frog (Jodhi May) predicted young Cersei's future.

"You will never wed the prince, you will wed the king. You'll be the queen, for a time. Then comes another - younger, more beautiful to cast you down and take all you hold dear."

Ok, nothing new here.  But in George R.R. Martin's version, Maggy the Frog has a more sinister prediction.

"And when your tears have drowned you, the valonqar [little brother in high Valyrian] shall wrap his hands around your pale white throat and choke the life from you."

Reddit users have taken note of this quote and have offered theories as to what exactly this means.

Redditor BertMacgyver believes Cersei will be killed by The Hound.

The "little brother" in Maggy's vision may also be Jaime.  We all know the popular theory that Jaime may become the Queenslayer and kill his own sister.

Although this would be extremely satisfying, it might be too obvious for Game of Thrones.

In a recent interview with The Daily Beast, Coster-Waldau declined to give any hints away.  "That's a great theory," was all he would give us.

Only time will tell who or if Cersei will be killed off in Season 7.  If I were a betting man, I'd say it's definitely over for her in the finale of this season. Let me know if you agree in the comments below.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO for its 7th season on July 16th, 2017.
