Legends of Tomorrow Is Changing The Rules For The Season Finale
** Warning Spoilers Ahead **
Legends of Tomorrow is about to wrap up their second season, and the writers have already promised a jam packed, universe-altering final two episodes.
We already witnessed one insane episode this week, 'Doomworld', where we saw the Legends had altered reality to put themselves in charge, thus changing the universe.
We also unfortunately witnessed the death of Amaya Jiwe/Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) after she had gotten ahold of the Spear of Destiny, but was ultimately taken down and killed by Snark/Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).
The Legends then devised a plan to go back in time to 1916 to get the Spear of Destiny back from the Legion of Doom, who first got ahold of it in 'Fellowship of the Spear'.
If the Legends are able to get the spear back from the Legion of Doom, then all events occurring in 'Doomworld' will not have happened, and Amaya will not have been killed.
So it is tough to try and figure out what is going to happen in the finale, and even the shows creator, Mark Guggenheim, is being very careful with what he is revealing.
"We are going to the one thing on the show we said we would never do [on the season ender]." Guggenheim commented when speaking to Entertainment Weekly.
"Without spoiling too much, clearly they're going to have to do something very significant and break a major rule in order to fix things."
Now does this mean the writers are going to do something they said they never would? Or perhaps the Legends? It's tough to say.
We also don't know what Guggenheim could mean by that. One thing we do know is that the Legends cannot go back in time to the time of Jesus Christ because even the smallest change during that time could have massive consequences. Could this be the rule they intend on breaking?
(The creators may also have previously decided to not included religious figures in order to avoid controversy).
Another option the writers have is to do a total re-set. Not the most exciting of ideas, but it would certainly be something a bit unexpected.
Plus we know the series likes to make their own rules when it comes to time travel, so they very well could go back and completely wipe their own timeline.
We also learned that Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) is set to appear in the finale, so she very well could be part of the universe-altering finale.
Guess we will just have to wait patiently until 'Aruba' airs on April 4th at 9 pm on The CW.
