5 Actresses Who Would Slay as Poison Ivy

So we all knew that Warner Bros. was developing some sort of spin-off for Suicide Squad, but it wasn't until recently that we finally are getting a bit more information to sink our teeth into, or wrap our vines around in this case.

In place of The Batman in their DCEU for 2018, Warner Bros. will be coming out with Gotham City Sirens.

The movie, being written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and directed by David Ayer, will feature Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn as she teams up with Catwoman and Poison Ivy to take on Black Mask.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting to see who will be cast as Black Mask and Catwoman, but one role that has been talked about quite a lot lately is Poison Ivy.

I'm here to break down the best candidates of who has talked about the role, as well as who needs to start talking about it.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica was the first actress to express interest in playing the DCEU vixen while speaking to Cinema Blend about her movie, The Zookeeper's Wife.

"I'm interested in all things where the characters are strong and dynamic, and not stereotypes or objects. I like female characters that are subjects, not objects,"

"And so, if Posion Ivy happens to be that, sure. Throw my hat in the ring."

Chastain has been known for playing strong, intense characters, and it certainly helps that she has that signature, fiery red Poison ivy hair.

Bryce Dallas Howard

The Spider-Man 3 star was the next actress to (sort of) throw her hat into the ring for Poison Ivy. While she has not officially said yes to wanting the role, she did have a very cheeky answer to a fan asking her on Twitter.

She's best known for her roles in Jurassic World and The Help, and I think she would kill it as Poison Ivy.

She already has experience from Spider-Man 3, and she is way overdue more screen time.

This also hasn't been the first instance of Howard wanting to come back to superhero movies. When asked about the Captain Marvel move, Howard jumped at the chance to throw her name into the ring.

Evan Rachel Wood

So the Westworld star hasn't officially said anything as of yet, but the fans have certainly being throwing her name around to play the botanist supervillain.

She has been in the acting world since the ripe age of 10, so she certainly has the experience. Plus after seeing her in True Blood, she would kill it as Poison Ivy.

Katherine McNamara

Katherine is relatively new onto the acting scene, and is best known for her roles in The Maze Runner series and Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments on Freeform.

Signing onto Gotham City Sirens as Poison Ivy could shoot her straight up to the A list.

Sarah Hyland

Before you say anything, hear me out. She might be a little bit out there for the role considering she has mainly done comedy on Modern Family, but what better way to jump out of your comfort zone then to turn into Poison Ivy?

She may be a little bit young for the role, and fans may not like that she isn't pale and a redhead, but this would be a really good role for her to try and get out of the comedy bubble.

Think my choices are completely out there? Let me know who you think should play Poison Ivy in the comments down below.

I'm about as basic as they come. If I'm not drinking Starbucks, then I'm probably drinking wine. If I'm not out shopping, I'm probably playing with my dog.
