Will The CW Pick Up Black Lightning?

It's that time of year again. Winter shows are finalizing and Spring pilots are all the chatter.  One show in particular, Black Lightning, is picking up a lot of steam over at The CW.

The Pilot is said to have been very well received, and according to Deadline, the network will likely order an entire season.

The show stars Cress Williams as Jefferson Pierce AKA Black Lightning. Jefferson is a retired superhero raising a teen-aged daughter who has vigilante aspirations of her own.

Jefferson has now settled down as a school teacher until one of his students has a run-in with a dangerous gang, forcing him back into costume.

The character is one of DC's first African American superheroes which debuted in 1977. While Netflix's Luke Cage established the first black actor as a lead superhero, more diversity is always welcome.

What do you think? Are you ready and willing for another superhero show on The CW?  How can this show differentiate itself from the others? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.

Jon enjoys long walks on the beach and a nice pair of slacks. In his free time you may find him at a concert in Brooklyn or a craft beer bar.
