Game of Thrones Finale: The Dragon and the Wolf Photos Revealed

699 Reads

The final episode of Game of Thrones season 7 is nearly here and some new photos have been released.

The episode entitled, "The Dragon and the Wolf" will be the longest in Game of Thrones history, clocking in at 80-minutes long.

The title likely refers to Daenerys and Jon or perhaps just Jon by himself as his parents are a Targaryen and a Stark.  Or it could literally mean Rhaegar and Lyanna.

Many people even believe that this episode could show a flashback to the romance between Rhaegar and Lyanna which would 100% confirm Jon's lineage once and for all.

This would fit with the season 6 finale flashback with Lyanna Stark holding her baby before a cut to a close up of Jon.  Some Twitter detectives even feel they have pinned down an actor to play Rhaegar.

How will this realization affect the budding romance between Jon and Dany?  Will it hurt it?  Will it help it...?

Gilly knows of a Prince "Raggar" having a marriage annulment and Bran witnessed Jon's birth at the Tower of Joy.  It's all coming to a head with this finale.

A photo of Bran has been released which is probably how we will see this flashback.  And hopefully he will finally intercede in this Arya-Sansa beef.

Jon and co. have successfully snagged a wight to show off to the Queen in an effort to convince the world that the White Walkers exist.  Whether Cersei actually cares or not is a more dubious proposition.

Another wrinkle, however small, is that Jon Snow is the son of Rhaegar who Cersei was absolutely infatuated with as a girl.  So when you add together the fact that Jon is Ned Stark's (adoptive) son, the King in the North, ally to Daenerys AND the son of the prince she always dreamt of marrying, you get a potentially lethal cocktail of hatred from Cersei.

The biggest story from these photos isn't who we see; it's who we DON'T see.  Where is Daenerys?  HBO probably just wants to keep this a surprise.

Dany arriving in King's Landing is one of the most monumental moments in the entire series.

Alongside the main story there are still many unanswered questions surrounding Theon and Euron Greyjoy, the trapped Unsullied and the rift between the Stark sisters in Winterfell.

As much as I'm looking forward to this episode, finales always make me sad.  Not only will we have to wait a year-plus for the next season, this also means the show is nearly over...

What am I going to write about then?  Ballers?
