A Small Season 2 Detail May Be The Key To Defeating The Lannisters
There's a new theory out there that comes from an old source: season 2 of Game of Thrones. Professor-Reddit shared their idea on reddit and it actually makes a lot of sense. Tyrion, as we suspected, could be the key to the Lannister's demise.
The theory goes like this: in season 2, we saw Tyrion explain to Varys that when he was younger, he was put in charge of "all the drains and cisterns of Casterly Rock." Basically, he was a glorified plumber. However, this lowly job could be a huge key in the plan to beat the Lannisters and help Dany realize her goal of becoming Queen.
In the season 7 trailer (which yes, we have gone over like a million times now), we saw the Unsullied fighting in a House Lannister castle, which many speculate is Casterly Rock. How did they get there? The answer may be Tyrion.
Tyrion's experience manning the sewers in Casterly Rock could have left him with an in depth knowledge of all the secret passage ways, perfect for the Unsullied to march through.
Of course, this is just a theory. Daenerys' armies may not need help at all getting to Casterly Rock given their amazing skill on the battlefield and, well, the dragons. However, there is a history in Game of Thrones of using secret passageways (Mereen, Yunkai, King's Landing...even Tyrion's escape aided by Jaime).
So, what do you think? Does this theory add up or is it shit (pun intended)?
