I.F. man imprisoned for creating child porn
U.S. District Chief Judge B. Lynn Winmill on Thursday sentenced an Idaho Falls man to 23 years in federal prison for possessing and creating child pornography.
Justin Dixson, 43, pleaded guilty in November 2015 to one count of sexual exploitation of a child. Four additional counts of sexual exploitation of a child and a count of possessing sexually explicit images of minors were dismissed pursuant to a plea agreement. Winmill ordered that once released Dixson will be under lifetime supervision and be added to the sex offender registry. According to the plea agreement, Dixson was found with 1,712 images and video files of child pornography on his computer and hard drive. Some of the images depicted Dixson sexually abusing a child. Between July 2014 and February 2015, Internet Crimes Against Children investigators tracked child porn files shared online over a peer-to-peer network and found the source to be Dixson’s Idaho Falls home. The victim later told investigators the abuse began at age 6 and continued until she was 13.
