Rice told investigator she unmasked members of the Trump team after clandestine meeting with UAE crown prince

Rice told investigator she unmasked members of the Trump team after clandestine meeting with UAE crown prince Elizabeth Preza 13 Sep 2017 at 17:43 ET In a meeting with House investigators, former National Security Adviser Susan Rice testified she “unmasked” top officials from Donald Trump’s campaign in an effort to uncover why United Arab Emirates crown prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan visited New York in 2016, CNN reports.
As CNN reports, al-Nahyan met with former Trump National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner and former chief White House strategist Steve Bannon in December, during Trump’s transition. The transition team did not inform the Obama White House of the meeting, despite it being customary to do so. CNN reports the previous administration felt misled by Trump officials’ lack of disclosure. Rice’s testimony came as part of a House investigation into former Obama officials “unmasking” members of the Trump team. In his effort to downplay the multiple investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election, Trump has repeatedly insisted the real crime was committed by member of the Obama administraion, whom the president claimed “wire tapped” Trump Tower during the campaign. That bogus allegation has found little traction from Congressional investigators, which the exception of Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), who—despite recusing himself from the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation—has nonetheless launched a parallel investigation into Rice and the Obama administration. As Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-NC) told reporters in July, “the unmasking thing was all created by Devin Nunes.”
