Underrated Artists: Patrick Gleason
For some reason beyond me, this guy gets overlooked so often. Patrick Gleason is one of the best artists at DC right now which is saying something when you're in the big leagues with Jim Lee, Greg Capullo, David Finch and Jason Fabok. Finally, only recently he got a little attention after this amazing cover he drew for Superman #10.
The issue is actually a little hard to obtain by today's standards. Typically, the industry has to do all sorts of gimmicks and variants to get more than the 5 dollar cover price, this issue will run you about 20 bucks. On eBay of course, because I bought one there after I couldn't find it at any stores in my area.
However, Pat's greatest work was never published.
This beautiful work was done by Pat to be one of the 26,856 (estimated) variant covers for DKIII. It never was. I loved this piece so much that I had it made into a 11x17 poster at Staples for a dollar, and it is currently hanging in my home studio. Money well spent.

In short, if you like his work, now would be a good time to buy some original art he has done from his Big Cartel site, because it will not stay that price once he gets more titles under his belt, that I guarantee.
