A new kind of gene-edited pig could solve America's organ transplant problem

The latest advance in Crispr technology is a new kind of virus-free gene-edited pig.
Scientists are hot on the hunt to figure out a way to transplant pig organs into humans. But a growing concern is retroviruses in pig cells that could infect humans. It's unclear how high, or low, the risk for retrovirus infection poses for pig-human transplants.
