Less than a month after being drafted, top picks are shuffled off to Las Vegas or Utah or Orlando, placed on a patchwork team and asked to dominate. And with less than seven games to do so, the reactions are instantaneous. Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball was crushed after he shot 2-of-15 in his summer-league debut, but he has righted himself nicely since. It's laughable to scroll through some of those critical tweets now, and a reminder of how dangerous it is to make sweeping generalizations based on such small sample sizes, for performances both good and bad. Here's a look back at how some other top draft picks played in their first summer league, with some of the worst takes that accompanied the results.
