Starbucks' New Avocado Spread Changed My Life Forever
Starbucks has officially jumped on the avocado bandwagon today with their US nationwide release of the new Starbucks Organic Avocado Spread. The company has been experimenting on the DL with select markets since late-2016 but today, all Americans can enjoy some on-the-go avo. Made with organic Hass avocados, the spread costs $0.95 and contains 90 calories per serving.
As an unabashed lover of avocado toast, I headed over to my nearest Starbucks to see what the deal is. Sure enough, there they were, sitting inconspicuously in the corner of the fridge. I grabbed one, ordered an everything bagel, and headed back.
My first reaction when I opened the cream-cheese sized packet was the strong scent of onion and how fresh it looked, a perfect shade of guacamole green.
I lathered up my bagel with the spread and dug in. For a meal/snack costing $2.45 ($0.95 & $1.50 for the bagel), it was surprisingly delicious. The avocado tasted as fresh as it looked and it has just the right amount of tang.
Next time you’re bored of the ol’ bagel and cream cheese combo (who am I kidding, I’ll never get bored of that) or looking to add a twist to your Starbucks breakfast sandwich, pick up one of these little packets of your favorite berry.
