We May Finally Know How to Cure Jorah's Greyscale
Game of Thrones season 7 premiered on Sunday and of course we can rely on Reddit users to come up with new theories for the show. This next one goes out to one Jorah Mormont.
Thanks to a chilling scene in Sunday's episode, we know Jorah is at the Citadel with Sam, most likely having ended up there as part of his promise to Daenerys to find a cure for his Greyscale.
We might finally know how to, thanks to Reddit user Beastmodekait, who spotted a passage in the book from the restricted area of the Citadel library Sam and Gilly were reading that is integral to the Mormont. It seems to suggest ingesting dragonglass is a cure for Greyscale.
Of course, this isn't quite a straightforward nudge in the right direction for curing Greyscale, as the page is cut off, but it's at least a pretty good hint and points to the idea that dragonglass can cure several diseases.
The theory is supported by the fact that the material may have prevented Benjen Stark from becoming a wight. Also, we know another character afflicted with Greyscale, Shireen Baratheon, had her illness at least contained. This may have been because she lived in Dragonstone, which we learned in the most recent episode is home to a "mountain" of dragonglass.
Now that Sam is aware of this possible cure and where to find it, Jorah could finally stand a chance.
The premiere certainly set the stage for an epic season where anything can happen.
