This Is How GoT Actors Know When Their Character Is Going To Die
Fans and actors who have read the books that Game of Thrones is based on knew who was going to be killed off, and knew around what point in the series that tragedy would occur, although no one knew the exact episodes.
However, now that the television series has moved past the books, the only people who know which characters will die are David Benioff and D. B. Weiss.
Recently, it was revealed how the actors learn about the death of their character - a phone call.
When it comes close to the time for a character to be written off the show, Weiss and Benioff call the actor to give them the bad news over the phone.
This was confirmed by Jessica Henwick, actress of Nymeria Sand, who said she got a call from the "Double Ds."
"As soon as you hear that more than one of them is on the call you know what that means."
Natalie Dormer, actress of Margaery Tyrell, called being a Game of Thrones cast member an "occupational hazard," as you're "always half expecting that call."
Alexander Siddig, who played Doran Martell, described the moment he received the "death call."
"They said, 'You know what this phone call is about,' and I was like, 'Yeah, well, I guess I do.'"
We don't know who's been graced with a call from both Benioff and Weiss this season, but with war, war, and more war about to come, there's no doubt the creators will be racking up the phone bills.
