Game of Thrones Theory: Could Tyrion Be A Targaryen And/Or Dragon Rider?
Could Tyrion be the third and final dragon rider?
The dragons do need riders to guide them lest they end up running wild and charring Daenerys' allies. Dany has Drogon, so there are two vacant spots.
Most of us expect Jon Snow to take the second, with Rhaegal being the likely candidate due to the connection to Jon's biological father.
(Bran could potentially warg into a dragon but I'm just speculating about physical riders.)
Some people think that Tyrion Lannister could be the other. (I think it's Hot Pie.)
Tyrion had a childhood fascination with dragons. And when he unchained the dragons a couple of seasons ago they didn't outright burn him to death.
He also managed to develop a special saddle for Bran to ride a horse so maybe he can come up with something similar here. (I'm probably pulling at straws but you never know.)
And it is thought abroad that Tyrion may be a Targaryen after all. The conspiracy theorists believe that Tyrion's real father is the Mad King, Aerys Targaryen.
Tywin Lannister frequently spewed to Tyrion, "You're no son of mine." Some seem to believe this is meant to be taken literally.
Tyrion also famously said, "All dwarfs are bastards in their father's eyes." Could this also be more foreshadowing of the surprise reveal that Joanna Lannister and Aerys Targaryen shared a secret tryst?
Although I find it unlikely that Benioff and Weiss would want to pull two secret Targaryen reveals out of their hats. The Jon Snow-Rhaegar Targaryen connection is plenty enough. Any more could dilute the impact of that shocking development.
And that's even failing to mention the missing Aegon Targaryen or "Young Griff." But I'm still not ruling out the possibility.
Viserion's colors do share a resemblance to the Lannisters' gold, I would say.
