Pats Make Big Time Offer To Big Free-Agent Defender
Let the free-agency bonanza begin!
Needless to say, the Patriots have quite a few players hitting the free-agency party this offseason, though it seems that the team is already hitting the ground running and making some deals.
Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald, recently tweeted that the New England team has reached out to defensive lineman Alan Branch.
The Patriots believe they made a solid offer to Alan Branch this week. They're deep in negotiations.— Jeff Howe (@jeffphowe) March 2, 2017
Branch was a key player during the Super Bowl, recovering the fumble in the third quarter that gave the Pats the momentum they needed to make the incredible comeback in the fourth quarter.
It’s no secret that if Branch hits the open market, it wouldn’t be long before a bidding war started over him, and it would likely leave the Pats being tossed to the side and Branch with a pocketful of sunshine as another team scoops him up. Patriots are doing the smart thing by working on a deal ASAP.
