DC's Super Hero Girls Heading To Cartoon Network

DC Super Hero Girls

It is an amazing time to be a geeky parent! New Star Wars movies. New Marvel Movies. New DC movies. Geek-dom has spread to the mainstream and with it, a torrent of merchandise for every age group. This is best seen over at DC, who is catering to a market usually not targeted by superhero companies: young girls. Enter DC Superhero Girls.

What has been a very successful venture for DC has allowed parents everywhere to get action figures, dolls, vehicles, activity books, comic books, and short (3-5 minutes) episodes of young versions of DC superheroes in high school. That last part is what always bothered me but DC has finally expanded their horizons and DC Superhero Girls is getting full length episodes which will air on Cartoon Network in 2018.

This is only good news for fans and kids alike to be able to further commit to the line which has done a great job not only of exposing new fans to the characters within the DC universe but also to promote good values such as self-esteem and collaboration.

Likewise, the investment into a larger scale shows the company’s interest to the brand. Undoubtedly, retailers will be selling more and more merchandise which corresponds with the show.
