New Wonder Woman Teaser Airs On Cable T.V. TONIGHT

The highly anticipated film adaptation of DC’s comic book character Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, has had a tumultuous reception among fans.

Starring the beautiful Gal Gadot as America’s beloved Amazonian princess, Wonder Woman has received increasing publicity after debuting in Zach Snyder’s film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

While the 2016 film did not receive ample praise in and of itself, Wonder Woman’s periodic appearance throughout the film left fans curious and pining for more of the Themysciran expatriate.

Wonder Woman provides the origin of Diana Prince and details how she came to leave her home in Themyscira to eventually become a founding member of the Justice League.

The plot is adapted largely from the comics and paints Diana in all of her original 1941 glory, having the ability to reflect bullets with her bracelets, engage in deadly hand to hand combat, and wielding the trademark golden lasso. However, there are marked differences between contemporary Wonder Woman and that of yesteryear.

Releasing two trailers, various stills, and some teasers, DC has been carefully leaving a trail of bread crumbs they hope will lead fans into theatres on June 2nd. Much has been revealed thanks to the trailers, which make it clear that careful artistic license has been taken in developing Wonder Woman for the 21st century.

The backdrop of the upcoming 2017 film, for example, is World War II, markedly different from that of the original comics, which place Wonder Woman’s arrival to America sometime during the golden age shortly after World War II.

The released media surrounding the upcoming film, aside from revealing key hints about that the direction the film is headed, has led to a flourishing of public discussion on interesting aspects of the film itself. A prime example of this is the current debate that first sprung up after the release of the teaser trailer on July 23, 2016 during Comic Con.

The teaser trailer showed Diana lifting a car over her head, an action that temporarily revealed her shaved armpits. This fleeting detail, appearing on screen for mere moments, led to much internet discussion and has acted to break fans into two parties: those for armpit hair and those against.

One can only imagine how today’s sneak peek, airing during tonight’s episode of Gotham, will provoke and inspire the imaginations and passions of DC fans worldwide.

Fans should expect this upcoming teaser to present brand new footage to fans that have not yet appeared in past trailers or teasers, especially because a teaser was similarly released last year for Superman v Batman that provided fans with never before seen clips.

What is undoubtedly clear is that tonight loyal DC fans everywhere will be tuning into FOX’s Gotham to catch a sneak peek of 2017’s Wonder Woman.
